The Next Step

Over the past couple of year’s at Pinecroft Centre for the Arts we have offered one day classes as an introduction to making functional pottery. We take a group of 8 and teach centering, and the making of a cylinder, a bowl and usually a what have ya. The courses have been a runaway success. Usually friends, nurses from the hospital, mums and daughters, teachers, the gang from the hairdressers come for a day of getting dirty and a nice lunch at the Green Frog Tearoom.

What this usually means is that we trim their pots, handle them, glaze and fire them.

There have been many students that have asked what’s next??? We are introducing The Next Step. This is the fun part of making potss- making marks, applying a wide variety of surfaces decoration and making them yours.

“The Next Step” ….. with Tony Clennell

This session will consist of 3 days hands in the studio introducing students who have taken the introductory class or those who have some throwing experience to the next step- finishing, handles, the decorative process, glazing and firing. It will be a comprehensive 3 days

Available dates are: 
Session 1 October 29, 30 and November 6^th

Session 2 November 19,20,26

Each student will have up to 8 finished pieces.

Session cost $225.00 plus HST
